Radio Caroline link - Ross Revenge mini-skirts
man on the moon

Hi! My name is Tricia. For over four years I ran a website for Writers and Artists - Footsteps to Oxford. It reached most parts of the globe and I was lucky enough to make some wonderful new friends who, to this day, keep in touch.

I enjoy new challenges and turning 60 this April filled me with excitement and anticipation. At long last I have time to spend doing the things I have hitherto had to “cram” into a working week - writing; painting; creating websites; making wine and - oh yes! - taking up ice skating! I have discovered there is an “Over 50’s” session every weekday between 10.00-12noon at the Oxford Ice Rink - a 40 minute drive away.

So! I am feeling the same excitement as the young lady on the left of this page did when her life was set against a backdrop of Beatles music; folk clubs; flower power and a glamourous America President who was going to change the world (JFK).

As we know, things didn’t quite work out the way us Baby Boomers planned and we have had to survive the trials of a potential world war; recession; strikes; rising divorce rates and then came 9/11 which changed everything.

But optimism lives on and here is one sexagenarian who can’t wait!
Bring it on!

If the Sixties conjure up images of The Beatles; mini skirts; Pirate Radio; Twisting the Night Away and Neil Armstrong walking on the moon, then chances are that you too have just reached that milestone of turning 60 years old. No generation of senior citizens have ever before been blessed with such good health and such a wide choice of self-fulfillment. Embrace this chance to learn new skills, take up new hobbies, make new friends and make use of the many advantages that turning 60 can bring.

SCENESIXTY wants to build up a comprehensive database of special deals for the over 60’s in your area. Offers such as discounts for courses at your local college or leisure centre. Discount days at your local DIY store or restaurant. Where, for instance, can you meet up and “do lunch” without breaking the bank or book a weekend break without paying a single supplement?

We aim to keep a list of any stores/restaurants/leisure activities/colleges or supermarkets that operate any “Over 60” offers. But we need YOUR help! Email us with any information you think might prove useful. We will publish (with a small biopic and photo, if you wish) anything we feel might be of value to your fellow travellers.

So come on! Let’s hear from you!  please e-mail us at contact@scenesixty.co.uk
 or call us at 0779 202 6717.

At SCENESIXTY, we want to keep YOU in touch with
 the benefits of reaching 60!
